CineStill 400D at 3200
It’s no secret that I do not like 400D. Now that dislike doesn’t come without some merit, when it was announced CineStill showed us a plethora of incredible images supposedly from the stock. I can admit that I went a bit overboard with the preorder and bought a lot more than I should have specifically 44 rolls between 35mm and 120 & a box of 4x5 (about $780 in total). BUT when I got my film the images I got looked NOTHING like what CineStill had promised. There was one thing CineStill did promise in their marketing though, they claimed the film could handle a push up to ISO 3200. So looking to get images I actually liked from my pile of expensive film I decided to start pushing it and seeing what happened.
It turns out I wasn’t alone in this experience across the internet I’ve found hundreds of people with similar complaints of the films handling of highlights, color shifts, and roll to roll consistency.
